Living Generously!
2007 Stewardship Campaign Update

Hand Heart & DoveAs we are now through the bulk of our 2007 Stewardship Campaign I would like to take a moment to report on some wonderful news.

As many of you will recall, Dean Richardson challenged us in his opening letter last October to join him and Rev. Canon Mary Richardson, in increasing your pledge by 15% to help St. Paul’s overcome some unique budget challenges this year as well as to more fully live into the vibrant, inclusive faith to which we are called.

It is my pleasure to report that we are on pace to meet, if not exceed that challenge! To date approximately 450 of you have submitted pledges, totaling approximately $765,000 – that’s up more than $80,000 from this point last year!  Moreover, of those of you who increased your offering, the average increase was a remarkable 26%.

I am also happy to report that significant support is coming from new members. Although we are less than 3 months into the campaign, we’ve already received 60 first-time pledges totaling nearly $70,000 – that’s more new pledges in 3 months than we had all last year!

On behalf of the Dean and the Chapter as well as the entire Stewardship Committee who worked so hard on this campaign – I thank you. Although we are not out of the woods yet and there are still several more of you that we are hoping to hear from, we are well on our way to meeting our budget goals for the year.

But more importantly, and I know I speak for everyone involved in this effort, when I say, what a truly joyous and fun campaign it has been. The excitement and energy that is generated when we as a community gather together to recall the countless blessings in our lives and all reasons we love the Cathedral is just awesome. Our theme this year – “With Gladness and Singleness of Heart” – could not have been more appropriate.

Blessing to you all in the New Year!
