February 2012
The organ arrives in Missouri and work begins on the disassembly of the console for its reconfiguration. Pictures here. The more than 4,000 pipes are cleaned, new swell boxes built to the rebuilding of the blowers begins (in Portland, Oregon).
January 2012
Quimby team arrives from Missouri and begins the dismantalling of the Memorial Organ. Pictures here and here.
June 2011
The "Public Phase" of the campaign officially concludes on June 30th with $1,126,000 (toward a goal of $1,250,000) with more than 250 gifts and pledges. Final issue of e-newsletter is sent.
The "Community Phase" of the campaign begins.
May 2011
May 21, first in a series of "Organ Salons" is held. Private receptions and musical tours of the organ hosted by Canon Green and the campaign committee.
May 18, weekly campaign e-bulletin initiated to keep members of the Cathedral and music community up to date on developments in the campaign and the restoration project.
May 15, The "Public Phase" of the Campaign is officially launched with a series of events including a 9am Forum and "An Instructed Concert" attended by more than 150 - members of the committee are introduced publicly and the "leadership phase/quiet phase" total is publicly announced: $835,895!
Members of the project team meet with Michael Quimby in San Diego to review installation, facade and chancel design issues and finalize the scope of work.
April 2011
Campaign is publicly announced at Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday. Brochure debuts. Website www.restoreourorgan.com is launched featuring a documentary video of the organ and Canon Martin Green
March 2011
"Leadership Phase" of campaign is launched. Official campaign logo is developed around the 125th Anniversary of the Memorial Organ.
February 2011
Quimby Pipe Organs of Missouri is retained to complete the restoration work.
Laurie Gunn accepts invitation to Chair the $1.25 million capital campaign. Carol Wash agrees to serve as Vice-Chair. Campaign committee formed and begins meeting weekly to lay groundwork for campaign.
Rachel Greenhouse engaged as graphics consultant for the campaign.
Chapter formally authorizes the capital campaign and engages Rev. David Norgard of www.od180.com as campaign consultant.
