Music is a large part of worship at St. Paul's Cathedral and is harmoniously
woven into the liturgy to enhance the worship experience.
The Mixed Choir is heard at the 10.30 am Sunday Eucharist. The Cathedral
Choristers of boys and men, and the St Cecilia Choir of girls and men are
heard on alternate Sundays at 5.00pm Evensong.
On certain occasions, instrumental ensembles, such as brass or strings,
supplement the Aeolian-Skinner organ.
The Music Department is under the direction of the Canon for Music, Martin
Green. The wide-ranging program includes weekly choir rehearsals for the
boy and girl choristers, the men, the adult mixed choir, and the cathedral
Schola, music education for the boys and girls, concerts, and a variety of
other musical outlets in the community.
The weekly rehearsal for Choral Evensong is open to the public, and takes
place at 4.00pm in the Cathedral.
