In support of its mission, the Cathedral gratefully accepts contributions of any amount. Donors are acknowledged in various ways; however, a donor may request to remain anonymous. Contributions will be used for general program support unless otherwise designated by the donor in advance. Contributors may choose to direct their support to one or more these special areas:
Endowment
Contributions to the Endowment Fund help to maintain and enhance St. Paul’s buildings and grounds. In partnership with the Episcopal Church Foundation, the Cathedral offers a variety of legacy gift options, including some which are income-producing.
Friends of St. Paul’s
Gifts support physical improvements for the Cathedral and the rest of the campus. Those who attend St. Paul’s Cathedral as non-members, such as seasonal residents of San Diego, visitors from other churches, and diverse residents of the surrounding community, are particularly invited to consider this option.
Friends of Cathedral Music
Gifts support the wide array of musical offerings presented throughout the year including recitals, concerts, and music in worship. They also allow St. Paul’s to invest in the development of its outstanding library of sacred music, a resource for both the Cathedral and the community.
Friends of Cathedral Arts
Gifts to Friends of Cathedral Arts support our vibrant cultural program, including, among other initiatives, both theater and the visual arts.
A Special Note about Memorial and Tribute Gifts
Gifts may be made in memory of a deceased family member, friend, or associate, or to honor a special occasion in the life of a loved one. There is a standard suggested donation for memorial and tribute Altar flowers and sanctuary lamps.
For other memorial and tribute gift opportunities, the Cathedral maintains a list of unfunded items that would enhance particular aspects of its ministry (the list is available in the Cathedral office). Unless instructed otherwise, the Cathedral acknowledges donations by letter to the donors and also by notifying the person being honored or an appropriate representative of the deceased being memorialized.
