The Cathedral is able to accept a wide range of offerings to accommodate each person's abilities.
Time & Talent
Each of is blessed with special gifts, even if they seem mundane. Perhaps your is patience and understanding, so being a docent or a lay pastoral visitor may be a way for you to give to God. Or you may have great attention for detail and spending a few hours helping to archive our history as a church may suit you. The Cathedral is a vast network of small hands helping us to help others.
Annual Pledging
Friends and members pledge their support once a year. Pledges represent a commitment to support the Cathedral with unrestricted giving for a defined amount over twelve months. Payments may be made in the form of cash, check, VISA or MasterCard, or negotiable securities.
Donors may fulfill their pledges with a single annual payment or, as is more common, weekly offerings received at worship services. In the latter instance, the Cathedral will send the donor dated offering envelopes printed with donor record numbers, to insure proper crediting of payments. Monthly and quarterly payment arrangements are also available. Donors may increase or reduce the amount of their pledges at any time by contacting the Cathedral.
Securities
The Cathedral is grateful to receive gifts to either its Operating Fund or its Endowment Fund in the form of marketable securities. To arrange for making such a gift, please contact the Associate for Development, the Rev. David Norgard.
The Cathedral sells donated securities on the business day immediately following their receipt by the Cathedral’s brokerage firm. Unless otherwise designated by the donor in advance, the proceeds from the sale of the asset will be deposited in the Cathedral’s Operating Fund and used for general purposes. The Cathedral will notify the donor of the value of the gift for tax purposes, which is determined by calculating the mean between the high and low selling prices of the securities on the day of transfer.
