Education for Ministry (EFM)
Every baptized person is called to ministry. EFM was developed by The School of Theology at the University of the South (Sewanee). It is a four-year program (nine months per year) in which participants study the entire sweep of Christian tradition–scripture, history, and theology from the earliest period to the present. Cost is $350 per year. Meets Thursdays from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in the Fireside Room. Contact Cecil Keener at 858-569-4085 or cmcguir1@san.rr.com or Stephen Velez-Confer at 619-645-6344 or sconfer@aol.com.
Docents – Variety of volunteer times available
These volunteers keep the doors of the Cathedral open during daytime hours on weekdays. When docents are on duty, anyone can come into the church to sit, pray, enjoy the stained glass windows, or listen to the organist during practice. This is a unique offering to the community as there are currently no other churches open during the day! Docents answer questions, give tours if desired, or just give space to those who enter.
