Patio Table Volunteer at St. Paul’s

Description:  Promote the shoe drive for the annual RefugeeNet “back to school” shoes for San Diego’s refugee children; distribute needed shoe size information and intake shoes- training provided!

When:  Sundays May 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29; various shifts available after and between the 8AM and 10:30AM services; and before or after 1PM Misa

Tutoring for children in grades elementary-high school

Description:  RefugeeNet provides tutoring for refugee children; Tutors are needed in all subjects, help with English and Math is especially needed

Where:  St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in City Heights

When:  Tu-Friday, 3-5PM; various day(s) available

Join the Vida Joven Liaison Team at St. Paul’s

Description:  Work informally with a small group of St. Paul’s parishioners to promote awareness of the children’s needs and support the Vida Joven/Dorcas House foster home in Tijuana; Help coordinate the annual Angel Tree fundraiser, Vida Joven Day, and other fun stuff as it arises!

When:  Periodic team planning meetings and occasional events

Join the Alternative Gift Expo Committee

Description:  Promote fair trade, offer alternative gift giving, support local and world-wide non-profit organizations through offering the Alternative Gift Expo; committee members are needed to help plan the event, cashier, cook and provide a soup lunch, assist in decorating the Great Hall, provide creative publicity to the media, diocese and congregation, staff non-profit tables, and help with the set-up and take-down.

When:  Planning meetings start in June for the events in December; various shifts and responsibilities are available for helping hands!
