Simpler Living

Mission Statement

Simpler Living is a ministry of St. Paul’s Cathedral dedicated to growing in relationship with God and Creation. We seek a Christian response to the environmental crisis and our excessive consumerism by living more simply and sustainably in home, church, community, and the world. As creation care stewards, we educate and advocate for a healthier and more vibrant environment, now and for future generations.

Simpler Living Projects 

  • Organize celebration of Creation Care Sunday
  • Publish bimonthly SL e-newsletter
  • Sponsor film screenings with slow food potluck
  • Create and present one to two SL forums per year 
  • Organize SL workshops
  • Coordinate SL program with Religious Education
  • Work with Cathedral staff to "green" St. Paul's
  • Advocate for stronger creation care policies
  • Network with other churches, community-based organizations, government agencies, etc. regarding simpler living issues
