Have you ever wondered if you had a unique purpose in life?
Ever wondered what that might be?
Welcome to this year's Time and Talent campaign!
Whether we know it or not, we each have a unique purpose in life - to serve God and one another. But more specifically, God has planned exactly how each of us might serve and has equipped us for those tasks. We were shaped with Spiritual gifts, a Heart with passion, a variety of Abilities and skills, a Personality, and set of life Experiences - a unique S.H.A.P.E. for ministry.
Starting May 20th, we will be embarking on a six week journey of self discovery and discernment. And we'll be doing it together; through small groups meeting in homes during the week. In the first two sessions, we'll start with a look at our spiritual gifts and get to know one another. In week three, we consider our passions - where is our heart? In week four, we take an inventory of our skills and abilities. Next is our personality, and then finally in week six, we'll look at how our life's experiences: how the good and the bad have uniquely prepared us to serve certain groups or communities.
But equally important, we'll have the opportunity to experience small group community - to connect with others, form new friendships, and establish lasting relationship as we discern together how we can best use our time and talents in service to God.
To participate, simply sign up for a small group during coffee hour this week, or you click here and sign up online (there's a variety of meeting times and days so you should be able to find one that fits your schedule).
Then on June 22nd after the 10:30 service, join us for our annual Ministry Fair and BBQ. This will give you an opportunity to use your S.H.A.P.E. in choosing where to serve as well as give you a chance to meet ministry leaders to talk about their service at St. Paul's.
We encourage your participation; be a bit curious about the process as we explore how to live into "to love and serve God with gladness and singleness of heart." We are all wonderfully shaped to serve God - it's just for us to discover and start using it! Won't you join me?
