Service Ministries

With a variety of volunteer times available, this ministry is vitally important to documenting our daily life. The archivist accessions, inventories, and preserves non-current records and other items documenting the history of St. Paul’s. The archivist also occasionally prepares displays for special occasions.

Fun Team
What began as a group of “fun-loving” people to plan the Annual Homecoming Picnic, has expanded into working on the other fun events at St. Paul’s such as the Zydeco Mass dinner. Nothing can be too serious! Lots of fun, requires minimal time.

Docents
These volunteers keep the doors of the Cathedral open during daytime hours on weekdays. When docents are on duty, all are welcome into the church to sit, pray, enjoy the stained glass windows, or listen to the organist during practice. This is a unique offering to the community as there are currently no other churches in the area open during the day! Docents answer questions, give tours if desired, or just give space to those who enter.

Helping Hands
This group provides help to members of the congregation who are in need due to illness, death in the family or other similar circumstances by providing a meal, some house or gardening work.

Stitchery Guild
Guild members have a wide range of skills and interests relating to textiles and fabrics, working individually or in small groups to accomplish specific projects. Examples of recent projects include hemming and embroidering various Altar linens to replenish an aging supply, finishing a white chasuble and four matching stoles, and developing designs for seasonal banners.
