In this rebroadcast of last year’s service, we meditate on the events in Jesus’s life between the Last Supper and the Resurrection. This quiet, candlelit service of light and shadows is punctuated by haunting music and the sound of the “earthquake” at Christ’s tomb. The church gradually darkens and is punctuated by haunting music. 

 

April 9, Maundy Thursday

This rebroadcast of last year’s choral service will include a current bilingual sermon by Dr. Orlando Espin. This service marks the day Jesus hosted the Last Supper and washed his disciples’ feet. At the end, the altar is stripped, and the congregation leaves in silence. The service concludes with a focus on the altar of repose in our Chapel of the Holy Family for your contemplation. 

 

April 10, Good Friday

Good Friday commemorates the day of Jesus’ crucifixion and death. At noon we will pray the Stations of the Cross, narrated by Dean Penny with images of the stations of the cross from the cathedral nave, followed by a rebroadcast of the chanted Passion narrative from the Gospel according to St. John.

This Good Friday liturgy service (no Eucharist) is chanted and includes an invitation to pray around the cross.  This service is rebroadcast from 3 years ago with a current homily by Dean Penny.

April 11, The Great Vigil of Easter (Easter Eve)

This rebroadcast of last year’s service will include a current sermon from the Dean. We begin in darkness, retelling the stories of redemption, then the lights are raised and the Bishop will proclaim Easter. The Cathedral Choir sings this beautiful candle-lit vigil. 

 

April 12, Sunday of The Resurrection, Easter Day
